About the role
Vail Health is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist to join their dynamic team. This position is designed to cover shifts during employee vacations and periods of high patient volume.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe administration of radiation.
- Identify and review patient requisitions for consistency with clinical diagnosis and confirm patient and physician demographic information.
- Work knowledge of all Mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols, including procedures requiring contrast agents and sterile techniques.
- Conduct and document quality control to ensure equipment is within safe limits per MQSA and ACR guidelines.
- To guide patients and loved ones through their breast health journey, coordinate continuity of care by providing clear communication and education before, during, and after breast imaging procedures.
- Review and perform breast imaging examinations for technical accuracy, present completed examinations to the radiologist, and communicate pertinent data to those responsible for patient care following the procedure.
- Absorb and manage the workflow of the department to ensure completion of work assignments and proper patient care.
- Monitor and maintain medical supply inventory, informing the supervisor of any needs.
- Aid in the overall success of the department by acting as a team player.
- Model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience in Diagnostic mammography, Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS), and Stereotactic biopsy is preferred but not required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) certification required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Must be HIPAA compliant.

Hourly Pay: $41.72 - $62.57 USD
Schedule
PRN (Pool) benefits are available, including 16% PRN differential.
