As a Mammography Technologist, you'll play a critical role in helping women receive timely, accurate diagnoses while creating a positive, reassuring experience during what can often be a stressful time. Your technical expertise and compassionate approach will directly contribute to better patient outcomes and exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Perform screening and diagnostic mammography procedures following established imaging protocols.
- Produce high-quality images that assist radiologists in identifying potential abnormalities.
- Verify patient identity, physician orders, and relevant medical history before each examination.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients while providing reassurance and compassionate care.
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing discomfort.
- Prepare examination rooms and equipment before and after procedures while maintaining strict infection control and safety standards.
- Assist physicians during breast biopsy procedures as needed.
- Perform quality control testing and routine equipment checks.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists and clinical staff to ensure accurate imaging and minimize repeat examinations.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and comply with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current ARRT certification.
- State Radiologic Technologist license (as applicable).
- ARRT Mammography Certification (ARRT(M)).
- Strong knowledge of breast anatomy, imaging techniques, and patient positioning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- 3+ years of Mammography experience.
- Experience assisting with breast biopsy procedures.
- Experience working in an outpatient women's imaging or breast center.
