Mammography Assistant Part-Time

About the role

The Mammography Assistant Part-Time will provide direct patient care during interventional breast imaging procedures, assist in the interpretation of screening mammograms, schedule procedures, interact with patients and families, and communicate with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Assists radiologist and technologist during interventional breast imaging procedures
• Assists radiologist during the interpretation of screening mammograms
• Schedules interventional breast procedures
• Interacts with patients and families of patients requiring breast care services
• Interacts with physicians and community personnel involved in patient care
• Aids in scheduling appointments, registering patients, entering data, posting charges, updating patient records, and scheduling procedures
• Documents mammography results as directed by the radiologist and complies with regulatory requirements
• Communicates with patients, medical, and community personnel via phone
• Maintains continuity of patient care during staff shortages

Requirements

• Computer expertise with knowledge of word processing and database software
• Good office and organizational skills
• Experience in a patient/customer environment
• Attention to detail and computer accuracy for data entry and patient scheduling
• Effective and courteous communication skills
• Knowledge of universal precautions, sterile technique, and basic patient care

Pay

Competitive base rates determined by experience, internal equity, and market data. Clinical certification pay and shift differentials may apply. Prorated based on employment status.
