About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mammographer to join Reston Hospital Center, part of HCA Healthcare, a leading provider of healthcare services. Reston Hospital Center has provided quality healthcare since 1986, offering access to trained physicians and advanced technology. Our 230+ bed facility serves the Reston and Northern Virginia region with a full range of medical services, including 24-hour emergency care, maternal/child health, surgical services, urological services, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging. The hospital is a certified Stroke Center, Total Joint Center, and the only accredited Chest Pain Center in Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic, screening, and interventional mammography procedures in accordance with ACR guidelines and departmental protocols.
  • Assist physicians during interventional procedures, including stereotactic biopsies.
  • Perform bone density studies (DEXA).
  • Communicate the nature of procedures to patients, answer questions, and ensure patient rights and privacy are maintained.
  • Practice radiation safety and observe universal precautions at all times.
  • Pursue professional development for continual improvement of patient care.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a radiologic technology program approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association or documented equivalent education.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as an RT(R) and Mammographer (M).
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
