Mammographer

About the role

The Mammographer performs mammography procedures, including screening, diagnostic, and interventional studies, under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray technology to assist in patient diagnosis across all age groups, ensuring optimal image quality through proper positioning and technical settings.

Responsibilities

• Operates mammography equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, and maintains accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
• Adheres to radiation safety protocols, sterile techniques, and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Coordinates exams within the department, communicates effectively with medical staff, patients, and families, and handles scheduling and inquiries courteously.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and cleanliness, reports technical issues, and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Graduate degree from a radiologic technology program.
• Current ARRT certification.
• Valid state radiographer license.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
• Ability to access and administer relevant medications as needed.
