Mammographer

About the role

The Mammographer performs mammography procedures, including screening, diagnostic, and interventional studies, under supervision. Uses x-ray technology to assist in diagnosing patient conditions across all ages while practicing radiation safety.

Responsibilities

• Operates mammography equipment and support systems such as HIS, RIS, PACS, ensuring high-quality images and proper documentation
• Adheres to regulatory and accreditation standards, maintains patient confidentiality, and coordinates exams within the department and with other staff to ensure efficient patient care
• Provides courteous communication with patients, staff, and medical professionals
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and cleans work area regularly
• Accesses and administers drugs as per procedures

Qualifications

• Radiologic technology degree
• Current ARRT certification
• Mammography certification within six months of eligibility
• Valid state license
• CPR certification
