Malayalam Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Malayalam-English Phone Interpreter to work from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation
• Maintain a professional demeanor throughout the interpreting sessions
• Stay calm and neutral during emotionally charged calls
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment

Requirements

• Fluency in Malayalam and English
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and complex topics
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection
• Must be able to operate a computer and adhere to physical requirements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write the requested languages (highly preferred)

Pay

$0.60 - $0.75 per minute

Schedule

This is a remote position where the Interpreter works from his/her home-office. It is essential to ensure a quiet & secure environment.
