Role Responsibilities
- Community Outreach & Relationship Building
- Conduct in-person outreach at WIC clinics, FQHC waiting rooms, and CBO program sites across assigned counties
- Build trusted relationships with pregnant and postpartum Medicaid members
- Distribute Malama provider kits, flyers, stands, stickers, and other outreach materials
- Represent Malama at community events including baby showers, health fairs, and partner-hosted convenings
- Identify new local partnership opportunities and share learnings with the Malama team
- Events & Local Activations
- Help organize or staff monthly pop-up events, baby supply giveaways, community baby showers, and clinic tabling days
- Congnorate basic event logistics with support from the Malama team
- Share photos, learnings, and outcomes from events
- Help gather feedback from moms and community partners on what resources are most needed
- Social Media & Community Awareness
- Engage thoughtfully in local mom groups, Facebook communities, and other online spaces
- Create simple, authentic content in your own voice to build trust and awareness
- Share event updates, local resources, postpartum wellness information, and Malama education
- Help test what types of local content drive engagement and member interest
- Tracking & Reporting
- Keep a clear record of outreach activity, including clinics visited, contacts made, materials distributed, events attended, and follow-up needed
- Participate in regular Malama team check-ins with other ambassadors
- Share what is working, what is not working, and what the team should test next
- Help build the first version of Malama's ambassador playbook
Requirements
- Deep ties to and lived experience in the communities served: Denver, Aurora, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, or other Colorado communities with high maternal health needs
- Commitment to birth equity, reproductive justice, and culturally congruent care
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with diverse populations
- Comfort with engaging with CBOs, following up, and tracking outreach activities
