About the role

Belmark is seeking an individual to join our team at our Pressure Sensitive plant in Phoenix, AZ. We create labels, pressure sensitive, cartons, and flexible film that you see daily when shopping. The role involves ensuring proper equipment and materials are at press, assisting with setup, operation, and cleanup.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety procedures and adhere to Safe Quality Foods requirements.
  • Ensure proper equipment and materials are at press according to job instructions.
  • Assist with press setup, operation, and cleanup following press operator's instructions.
  • Maintain the appearance of the production area by performing tasks such as washing ink pans and doctor blades, throwing out garbage, sweeping the floor, etc.
  • Maintain supply levels at each press.
  • Operate a press to backup the press operator when needed.
  • Mix inks, mount plates on cylinders, bring stock from the warehouse to the press, and make plates as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Properly dispose of waste ink, spent solvents, and other designated waste according to hazardous waste handling guidelines.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple written and oral instructions.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Nearly constant concentration and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for 90% of work time, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for 10% of work time.
  • Visual acuity to see clearly at 20 inches or less, identify and distinguish colors, and adjust focus.
  • Manual dexterity to use hands for 100% of work time, reach above shoulders for 50% of work time, and use feet to operate machines for 30% of work time.
  • Strength to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts, handle a variety of chemicals, and be exposed to vibrations, noise, strobe/flashing light, and chemical odors.

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to two (2) years of high school.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • May require working some overtime.

Pay

$23.00 per hour starting pay + $1.00 shift differential.

Schedule

2nd Shift: 2:00pm – 12:00am, Monday - Thursday.
