The Sr. Manager directs a team that includes SROs, procedure writers, engineers, etc., supporting design integration and operability review. The position serves as the primary interface between project execution and station programs, ensuring all program updates are completed, verified, and ready to support uprate.
Key Accountabilities
- Own program alignment across Fire Protection, EQ, design integration, procedures, and training — ensuring all programs reflect EPU modifications and are ready for implementation.
- Directly manage two SROs supporting design integration and operability review, embedding licensed operator perspective into design decisions and procedure development.
- Capture, document, and approve uprate-driven licensing basis changes with EPCs, Owner's Engineer, and licensing.
- Drive revision of operating, emergency, and abnormal procedures for EPU power levels and setpoints; coordinate with training to incorporate changes into licensed and non-licensed operator programs.
- Serve as the cross-project integration point for program commitments.
- Identify program-related risks and schedule conflicts; escalate issues between project execution and program requirements to protect outage readiness and NRC compliance.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field required.
- 10+ years of nuclear industry experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing nuclear programs or engineering.
- Deep knowledge of nuclear licensing basis programs: Fire Protection (FPP), Environmental Qualification (EQ), procedures, and training.
- Previous SRO or RO required.
- Strong knowledge of NRC regulations, NQA-1 standards, and INPO/WANO program requirements.
- Experience managing large teams.
Key Metrics
- 100% program readiness prior to uprate such as Fire Protection, EQ, procedures, and training complete and verified.
- No NRC violations or corrective action program items attributable to program gaps or procedure inadequacy.
- On-schedule delivery of procedure revisions and training curriculum updates aligned to project milestones.
- Strong integration between project engineering, site operations, and licensing – no unresolved operability or program conflicts at outage execution.
