Major Gifts Associate
About the role
The Major Gifts Associate is a key member of the Major and Planned Giving team, responsible for coordinating and managing key solicitation and stewardship initiatives and working closely with WNET’s major and planned giving team and donors.
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary point of contact for major donor recognition including acknowledgment on signature series and general on-air recognition;
- Support the team as needed on funder updates or tune-ins;
- Maintain and update Major Giving Unrestricted solicitations and schedule;
- Liaise with Finance and Gift Processing to update major giving forecasts and reconcile budget projections;
- Partner with Director of Major and Planned Giving in working with the Patron and Research Departments on new pipeline development work, including maintaining notes on prospects and the team’s progress;
- Upload opportunities, update event lists, and work with Dev Ops to resolve issues in Salesforce;
- Create a Major Giving dashboard, monitor and maintain data integrity in Salesforce database, in keeping with industry best practices;
- Draft and edit donor proposals and reports, as needed;
- Prepare program updates and “one-sheets” with metrics and impact for key series;
- Draft donor messaging including emails and on-air recognition messages;
- Staff and support of development cultivation and stewardship events;
- Additional duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Highly organized and possess excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines;
- Proficiency with research and data analysis also desired;
- A minimum of one year of experience in non-profit fundraising/development, preferably in individual giving;
- Proficiency with MS Office required (especially Word, Excel, etc.) and fundraising databases;
- Knowledge of Salesforce, preferred.

The WNET Group offers competitive salaries, excellent benefits, and a supportive working environment. Salary ranges are based on benchmarked nonprofit and industry related data provided by an outside consulting firm and are commensurate with skills and experience. The hiring salary range for this position is $53,000 - $57,000. Internal equity considerations will be reviewed before making a final offer.
