Maitre D / Restaurant Host

Essential Functions

• Greets everyone at all times.
• Smiles, makes eye contact and verbally greets guests and coworkers from arrival to the property through departure.
• Provides enthusiastic customer service while interacting with guests and co-workers.
• Approach and greet customer in prompt and courteous manner, thanking them upon departure.
• Determine guest’s requirements, (i.e., the number in a party, smoking preference, other accommodations required such as wheel chairs access, comps, etc.).
• Seat arriving guests as quickly as possible and determine accurate wait periods as needed.
• Properly rotate server stations when seating guests (requires knowledge of server abilities).
• Affixes to service staff in ensuring tables are cleared and cleaned after each use, and are set properly.
• Ensures all areas of the restaurant are clean, particularly entrance and podium area.
• Answers telephones using proper phone etiquette as described in company standards.

• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time and/or entire shift.
• Responds to visual and aural cues while adapting to extreme temperature changes.
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
• Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Familiar with all phases and operations of the kitchen and able to have a sense of urgency and react to changing business demands express excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.; and, have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop and kneel.
• Responds to visual and aural cues.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma/GED required.
• Work requires a minimum of 6 months- 1 year work related experience.
