About the Role

The Maintenance Lead provides hands-on daily leadership for maintenance operations, helping the Maintenance Supervisor keep manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and infrastructure safe, reliable, compliant, and production ready. This role assists in coordinating work, supports troubleshooting, documents maintenance activity, and partners with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, prioritize, and monitor daily maintenance work based on safety, production, equipment condition, and business needs.
  • Coordinate work across shifts, support shift handoffs, and provide hands-on troubleshooting during breakdowns.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to required quality standards.
  • Support preventive maintenance (PM) scheduling, execution, review, and improvement, including recurring issue identification.
  • Ensure work orders, troubleshooting notes, parts used, equipment status, PMs, calibrations, and equipment history are accurate and complete.
  • Recommend updates to PM tasks, documentation practices, and maintenance records.
  • Identify and support improvements that increase uptime, reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, corrective actions, equipment upgrades, installations, relocations, and commissioning.
  • Communicate significant equipment risks, downtime, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to LOTO, PPE, GMP, ISO, and quality requirements.
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions involving equipment, tools, facilities, and maintenance activities.
  • Support audits, investigations, corrective actions, and technician safety or maintenance training.
  • Monitor critical spares, supplies, tools, and work areas to support equipment uptime and organization.
  • Assist with sourcing parts, vendor information, quotes, contractor scheduling, site access, and contractor work review.
  • Support facility systems and repairs, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, utilities, roofing, and related projects.
  • Coach and support Maintenance Technicians on equipment, troubleshooting, PM procedures, safety, and maintenance systems.
  • Help identify skill gaps, reinforce consistent practices, and encourage teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and other departments to resolve maintenance-related issues.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school, vocational training, or associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience required, with lead, supervisory, or coordination experience preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with working knowledge of controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, HVAC, and facility systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs, manufacturing environments, and SAP or similar CMMS preferred.
  • Ability to read drawings, schematics, and equipment documentation and safely use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, prioritization, organization, coaching, problem-solving, decision-making, and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, reach, work in various positions, lift or move up to 50 lbs., and wear required PPE.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to equipment, moving parts, electrical equipment, noise, odors, and other industrial hazards.
  • Must follow all applicable GMP, safety, PPE, facility, and gowning requirements.
  • May work in production, warehouse, utility, facility, and maintenance areas.
  • May be required to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, holidays, or emergency response as business needs require.
  • May travel for training or business needs when required.

Pay

Hourly rate: $35.00 - $42.00
