Purpose
The Maintenance Technician helps ensure all Heritage campuses remain safe, functional, and mission-ready. This role serves as a traveling maintenance resource supporting multiple locations, including Life, Launch, Spark Homestead, and future campuses, while also assisting the Provo campus during staffing gaps and larger projects.What You'll Do
- Campus Maintenance & Repair- Perform preventive and general maintenance across multiple campuses
- Complete repairs, inspections, and maintenance work orders efficiently and accurately
- Identify and address maintenance concerns before they become larger issues
- Maintain consistent facility standards across all locations
- Mobile Support & Project Work- Travel between campuses to provide maintenance support where needed
- Assist with larger facility projects, renovations, and infrastructure improvements
- Provide maintenance coverage on the Provo campus during team absences or staffing needs
- Support event setup, campus operations, and emergency response needs
- Safety & Facility Standards- Monitor campuses for safety hazards, structural concerns, and operational risks
- Maintain clean, safe, and functional environments for students and staff
- Absorb snow removal, landscaping, and seasonal facility needs
- Follow safety procedures and use tools and equipment responsibly
- Teamwork & Communication- Communicate clearly with staff, leadership, and cross-campus teams
- Cook priorities and schedules across multiple sites
- Contribute to a positive, solutions-focused team environment
- Represent the Facilities team with professionalism and accountability
Qualifications
- Education & Experience- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or related trades preferred
- 2+ years of maintenance, construction, or facility operations experience preferred
- Experience in residential, healthcare, or educational settings is a plus

- Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments. Employees must be able to:- Walk, stand, bend, climb, and lift throughout the workday
- Lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Safely operate tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment
- Work in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
- Remain calm, professional, and aware while working in a residential treatment environment with students who may experience emotional or behavioral crises
