Maintenance Worker (Storm Water)

About the role

This position performs street and drainage system maintenance and repair duties.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs ditches
• Maintains catch basins and headwalls
• Maintains and installs drainage pipes
• Flags traffic at work sites
• Maintains assigned vehicles and equipment
• Makes sidewalk and curb repairs
• Repairs street water and sewer cuts
• Installs road signs
• Operates a backhoe, tamper, and other equipment
• Operates a variety of hand and power tools
• Performs related duties

Requirements

• Knowledge of street and drainage system maintenance principles
• Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of city infrastructure
• Knowledge of safe work practices
• Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles and equipment
• Skill in the operation of hand and power tools
• Skill in decision making and problem solving
• Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
• No experience requirements
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Pay

$15.63/hour
