Maintenance Worker (part-time)

Job Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining interior and exterior building areas
• Cleaning carpets and mopping floors
• Unclogging drains and performing minor repairs
• Painting and replacing light bulbs
• Diagnosing and addressing water leaks
• Maintaining and reordering cleaning supplies
• Operating and maintaining hand-held tools and equipment
• Cleaning and maintaining handyman tools and equipment
• Assessing and recommending repairs or contacting outside vendors
• Maintaining landscaping, grounds, walkways, and drives
• Mowing grass, using weed eaters/edgers, leaf blowers, and planting flowers
• Laying sod and repairing sprinkler systems
• Ensuring compliance with safety protocols and OSHA regulations
• Washing and cleaning funeral home vehicles
• Loading and unloading caskets

Minimum Requirements

• High school education or GED
• Trade school preferred
• Experience as a handyman, painter, or plumber preferred
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work safely and follow operating procedures

Work Conditions

• Indoor and outdoor work during all seasons and weather conditions
• Moderate odors, dust, pollen, or fumes may cause discomfort or irritation
• Loud noise from equipment/machines may require ear protection
• Frequent standing for up to 8 hours per day
• Frequent climbing stairs to access buildings
• Physical demands requiring manual dexterity
• Carrying and lifting up to 75 pounds

Work Hours

• Working beyond standard hours as needed

Compensation and Benefits

• $18.00/hr
• Part-time associates working an average of 20 hours a week may be eligible for a 401(k)
