Maintenance Worker (MVO) NA-07.

Responsibilities

• Performs minor grounds maintenance, including ensuring entrances and exits are free from debris, sidewalks are clear of ice/snow, and surfaces under playground structures are maintained according to safety requirements.
• Performs a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, and related structures, fixtures, and utilities.
• Ensures children and youth know how to safely evacuate the bus; practices bus evacuation monthly following prescribed procedures and documents all drills in writing.
• Notifies supervisor of obvious hazards, malfunctioning equipment, damaged materials, or other situations impacting work operations.
• Works both indoors and outdoors, including driving in all weather conditions on a military installation, and exposure to dirt and fumes.
• Works in a kitchen setting with exposure to the possibility of cuts.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Must meet qualification, eligibility, and background requirements for the position.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.
• Must have a current health assessment and immunizations in accordance with Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
• Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends.
• Duties involve working both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions.
• This position requires mandatory drug testing and is covered by the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program; incumbent must sign DA Form 5019-R.
• Designated as a Testing Designated Position (TDP); subject to random drug testing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
• Ability to communicate in English at a level sufficient to perform duties safely and satisfactorily.
• Experience in accomplishing duties described in this job posting.
• Requires a valid state driver’s license (to operate a 15-passenger vehicle) or a commercial driver’s license (CDL) with no restrictions (to operate a 24-passenger vehicle).
• Must submit a copy of a current state-issued driver’s license and proof of education (e.g., high school diploma/GED, transcripts, college diploma, or degree) at the time of application.
