$39,216.00 - $46,079.00 Annually

Schedule

• 40 hours per week
• 7 - 11 hour shifts
• Saturday - Friday, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Two years of experience in ground maintenance work is preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills, effective interpersonal abilities, and good public relations skills
• Basic computer and cashiering skills
• Accurate recordkeeping skills
• Knowledge of waste management operations and handling hazardous materials is a plus
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 60 pounds
• Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required

Based on the Virginia DMV point system, records must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out-of-state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date.

Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required. This position is considered Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Must maintain personal mobile technology as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance of grounds and facilities
• Oversee citizens and contractors during the disposal or recycling of collected materials
• Operate heavy equipment
• Complete cashiering functions
• Respond to customer inquiries
• Monitor community recycling centers
• Perform other work as required
• All tasks must be performed safely, efficiently, and with a positive attitude
• Safety is the top priority
