Maintenance Worker

Qualifications

• A high school diploma is preferred
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electricity, and heating and air-conditioning
• Licensure or certification in any of these areas is preferred

Job Requirements

• Physically and mentally capable of performing routine job duties
• Good problem-solving and trouble-shooting abilities
• Personable with residents, families, and staff in a professional and cooperative manner
• Compassion, tolerance, and understanding for the elderly and mentally ill
• Ability to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, linens, etc. in excess of 50 pounds as required

Main Duties

• Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives
• On-call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day to troubleshoot emergencies and urgent repairs
• Assist in maintaining and documenting hot water checks in residents' rooms, baths, showers, and general hot water sources
• Avoid ensure proper maintenance and running condition of all electricity and plumbing in the facility
• Avoid assist in maintaining and running condition of all equipment in the building
• Avoid Assist the Director in observing periodic inspections and performing repairs outside the scope of housekeeping
