Responsibilities

  • Performs minor fixes, repairs, preventative maintenance and renovations.
  • Areas of responsibility include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
  • Maintains grounds, including mowing and yard upkeep.
  • Clears snow from parking lots, entrances and walkways.
  • Conducts and documents routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Performs preventative maintenance.
  • Handles basic repairs, maintenance and renovations.
  • Areas of responsibility include plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
  • Oversees contractors when necessary.
  • Diagnoses mechanical issues and corrects them.
  • Repairs machines, equipment, and structures as necessary.
  • Picks up and delivers supplies and materials as needed.
  • Oversees contractors as needed.
  • Adheres to all relevant policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Performs and documents scheduled inspections of the entire facility.
  • Reports to maintenance manager regarding issues resolved, those needing attention, and those currently in progress.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; relevant experience or knowledge, skills, and ability equivalent.
  • Any other combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge or abilities may be considered.
  • Experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Physically able to push equipment used in the maintenance department.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time.
  • Previous experience working in related field preferred; training will be provided.

Skills

  • Valid driver's license and appropriate liability insurance.
  • EPA Universal Technician (40 CFR 82 Subpart F (HVAC) certification preferred.
  • First Aid / CPR / AED certification completed within probationary period and maintained throughout employment.
