Maintenance Worker

About the role
Under the direction of the Property Manager, oversees the basic maintenance, grounds keeping and cleanliness of the 567 Morris Avenue building and identified sites. Individual should be self-motivated and be able to work independently to complete all orders as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain a wellness and recovery-oriented environment by using respectful, person-first language, documentation, and interactions.
- Provide the highest quality customer service to all employees and customers as follows: be friendly, respond promptly, know your service, listen to and get to know our staff and customers, be open to asking, receiving and using feedback, create positive work relationships, always follow up with assignments, and be curious.
- Maintain a culture of compliance with internal and external policies, regulations, laws, and high ethical standards.
Program Operations
- Light carpentry, light plumbing, light electrical, able to work on ladders, change light bulbs.
- Change ceiling tiles.
- Paint sheetrock and spackling.
- Assist in any snow removal and salting as needed.
- Strip and wax floors.
- Steam clean carpets as needed or willing to learn.
- Fill out paperwork in a timely manner.
- Help with any cleaning as needed.
- Inspect all condos every three months and submit all paperwork on time.
- Help maintain all Bridgeway properties and leased properties as directed.
- Bring any needed repairs to the attention of the Property Manager.
Management of the Business
- Maintains supplies inventory.
- Maintains equipment and vehicles to maximize safety and longevity.
- Performs other duties as required.
Scope of Responsibility
- Familiarizes self with the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, policies, and procedures which may include some familiarity with other departments within the agency.
- On a regular and continuous basis, exercises sound judgment.

- Excellent van driving skills.
- Work early morning and evening hours as needed.
- Change schedule to meet the needs of the program.

- Contacts the Property Manager as appropriate in order to troubleshoot facility issues.

Physical Skills
- Lift 50 lbs.
Computer Proficiency
- Operate a personal computer and successfully navigate in order to access email, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software, as well as web-based programs such as essential learning.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Maintenance & cleaning experience a plus.
- Grounds keeping and general maintenance service experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required with no more than one moving violation within the past 12 months.
- Vehicle required.
Pay
Hourly rate: $25-$28 (based upon experience).
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm. Must have a valid driver's license.
