About the role
Aramark is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, repair, and operation of building systems within a production facility. This hands-on role focuses on general facilities maintenance, including HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical components, refrigeration equipment, building automation systems (BAS), and general building repairs. You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to work orders, conduct routine inspections, and help keep the facility safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, monitoring, and repairs on building systems and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and maintain HVAC equipment, including RTUs, CTUs, VAVs, FPBs, chillers, cooling towers, boilers, exhaust fans, and air filtration systems.
- Monitor and assist with Building Automation Systems (BAS), including Siemens Insight and Johnson Controls Niagara platforms.
- Service and perform basic repairs on refrigeration equipment such as ice machines, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Complete basic plumbing repairs, including faucets, valves, pumps, toilet components, and drain maintenance.
- Perform general carpentry and building repairs, including painting, patching, flooring, trim work, doors, locks, wall coverings, and ceiling tile replacement.
- Assist with life safety inspections, including emergency lighting, exit signs, fire extinguishers, and other safety equipment.
- Support fire protection system inspections and monitoring activities.
- Perform basic electrical maintenance, including lighting, switches, receptacles, breakers, lockout/tagout procedures, and generator testing support.
- Conduct routine rounds of interior, exterior, mechanical, storage, and critical facility areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Complete daily work orders, maintenance logs, and scheduled maintenance checklists.
- Coordinate and support outside contractors performing inspections, testing, and repair services.
- Work safely while following Aramark safety policies, PPE requirements, and site procedures.
- Maintain positive communication with team members, vendors, and facility occupants.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of facilities maintenance, building maintenance, maintenance technician, building engineer, or related experience OR completion of a technical/trade school program.
- Working knowledge of basic building systems, utilities, and mechanical equipment.
- Experience safely using common maintenance tools and equipment.
- Ability to prioritize multiple work orders and manage time effectively throughout a shift.
- Basic understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or building systems maintenance.
- Ability to work the scheduled shift:
- Sunday through Tuesday: 5:00 PM to 4:45 AM
- Wednesday: 5:00 PM to 11:30 PM
- 40-hour overnight shift schedule.
- Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work in an industrial production facility environment.
- Ability to wear required PPE and follow safety procedures.
Preferred
- Experience with HVAC systems, BAS controls, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, or fire/life safety systems.
- Experience supporting preventive maintenance programs in commercial, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, or distribution environments.
- Exposure to Siemens Insight, Johnson Controls Niagara, or similar building automation systems.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn new trades, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
