Maintenance Utility Technician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for following LO/TO policies and working safely.
• Assist Technicians in daily repairs and breakdowns.
• Use manuals to learn equipment, and repair procedures.
• Aid in Preventive Maintenance (PM) on equipment and facilities.
• Maintain shop equipment.
• Maintain auxiliary equipment as directed.
• Learn to use the CMMS software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and previous experience working in maintenance.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
• Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
• Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
• Frequently sit and reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Manual lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Educational requirement: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience requirement: Previous experience working in maintenance.
• Reasoning ability: Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Mathematical skills: Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Physical demands: Regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear; frequently sit and reach with hands and arms; occasionally stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
