Maintenance Trainee

About the role

The Maintenance Technician is integral to meeting the mission of Balfour Beatty Communities, which is to deliver quality communities where people are proud to call home. This role focuses on maintaining the physical condition of the community and providing top-notch service to residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance support for general maintenance and orderliness of property, including HVAC, mechanical, electrical, utilities, and lighting systems.
• Inspect and repair systems as needed.
• Ensure compliance with company safety and environmental policies and procedures.
• Deliver high levels of resident satisfaction through responsive, consistent, positive, and professional interactions.
• Work a rotating on-call schedule for 24/7 maintenance coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of basic tools and general maintenance processes.
• Basic troubleshooting skills.
• Valid, state-issued driver’s license with a safe driving record.

Qualifications

• Frequent use of hands for manipulating tools, machinery, equipment, supplies, and office equipment.
• Frequent standing, reaching with hands and arms, climbing ladders, balancing, and stooping.
• Sitting and standing for clerical work.
• Regular lifting and moving of equipment and supplies up to 50-75 lbs.

Skills

• Basic knowledge of HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
