About the role

Become an active member of the team. Through experience and training, the Maintenance Technicians should acquire all the skills to Rise Up and assume the Maintenance Supervisor’s responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Driving resident satisfaction by responding to and completing work orders timely in a quality manner.
  • Driving property performance by performing any and all work that produces clean, safe, and attractive common areas, including: pools, laundry, clubhouses, parking lots, etc.
  • Coinciding with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to prioritize tasks throughout the day.
  • Providing excellent customer service when interacting with residents, guests, and vendors.
  • Maintaining property value by performing preventative maintenance throughout the property.
  • Ensuring Resident satisfaction by preparing vacant apartments for move-in.
  • Ensuring a safe work environment by identifying any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions or maintenance needs on the property and correcting them and/or reporting them to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintaining and repairing critical building and site systems.
  • Using software applications to track work and personal performance.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of general maintenance/general repair experience, preferably in the multifamily or related industry.
  • EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification strongly preferred.
  • Trade skills including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, appliance, etc.
  • Trade Licensing preferred but not required.
  • Must have own hand tools.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of community.
  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Must have dependable transportation and be able to accommodate a rotating on-call schedule.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred but not required.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) is nice to have.

Skills

  • General maintenance/general repair experience.
  • EPA Type I, Type II or Universal certification.
  • Trade skills including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, roofing, cabinetry, pools, appliance, etc.
  • Trade Licensing.
  • Own hand tools.
  • Dependable transportation.

Physical Requirements

  • Requires ability to walk, stand, sit and climb stairs alternatively for the purposes of completing office work, inspection of apartments, and to conduct sales tours.
  • Approximately 60% of time spent walking and climbing and 30% sitting.
  • Requires the ability to lift or carry for the purposes of document dissemination, preparation of apartments for customers, and moving furniture/appliances within the office and apartment environment.
