Maintenance Technician (Tyger River Campus)

Job Responsibilities

  • Completes assigned maintenance, renovation, and construction projects.
  • Uses the maintenance management work order system to receive and complete all work orders.
  • Makes repairs to plumbing systems, such as repairing and replacing flush valves, faucets, and water fountains.
  • Makes repairs to a wide variety of equipment such as exhaust fans, lighting systems, fire and smoke alarm systems, clocks, repair door hardware, electrical components, etc.
  • Assists other technicians with a variety of specific maintenance duties as directed by the supervisor in areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and contract work as needed.
  • Calibrates, repairs, monitors, and works with main campus HVAC technicians as needed to control HVAC systems.
  • Maintains room temperatures and monitors on a regular basis to ensure occupant comfort is maintained.
  • Assists in renovations or modifications being done by Campus Operations.
  • Aids in rearranging rooms for special events and programs.
  • Performs roof inspections to prevent any damage from roof leaks, and if possible, makes the recommended repairs or coordinates with a roofing repair contractor.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
  • Preferred qualifications include an associate's degree in related area; two years of experience in a variety of areas such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical work.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Additional Comments

  • Must be able to be on-call some weekends as scheduled and work overtime when required.
  • Must be able to perform hands on labor and capable of lifting weights up to 50 lbs.
