Maintenance Technician Trainee

Summary

The successful candidate must reside within a reasonable radius of Sioux Falls, SD. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for handling One-Calls including communications with excavators and landowners
  • Act as liaison with emergency responders and local damage prevention groups
  • Responsible for pipeline right of way maintenance including marker replacement and ROW maintenance
  • Responsible for maintenance of pump stations, motors, valves and actuators
  • Responsible for all regulatory compliance checks
  • Responsible for relieving other Maintenance Tech’s in the area when they are on leave
  • Perform routine facility inspections including housekeeping

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required
  • Must be able and willing to respond to callouts and emergencies after hours including weekends and holidays
  • Participate in emergency response activities including spill drills and boom deployment drills
  • Must be able and willing to work hours outside normal hours as scheduled and required by management
  • Electrical experience preferred
  • Pipeline maintenance experience is preferred
  • Safety training and hazard training preferred
  • Must be able to become qualified on Operator Qualified tasks
  • Must be able to work independently as well with others
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to adapt to rapidly changing conditions
  • Computer experience preferred
  • Initiative and organization abilities for meeting deadlines and establishing priorities required
