Maintenance Technician - The Retreat of Shawnee

About the role

The Retreat of Shawnee is hiring a Maintenance Technician for our 342-unit property in Shawnee, KS. You’ll play a key role in providing an outstanding living experience for our residents by taking ownership of general upkeep, unit turns, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver timely, high-quality results for resident work requests and day-to-day community maintenance needs.
• Take pride in curb appeal by keeping grounds, amenities, and common areas above quality standards, ensuring a welcoming environment residents are proud to call home.
• Identify and resolve potential safety or upkeep issues, serving as a trusted set of eyes and ears to protect the property and its residents.
• Execute seamless make-readies, repairs, and final checks so new residents walk into a flawless home on day one.
• Provide reliable emergency support on a rotating on-call schedule, ensuring peace of mind for residents when urgent issues arise.
• Champion a culture of safety by following all industry procedures, protecting yourself, your teammates, and the community.

Requirements

• 2+ years of general maintenance experience; residential maintenance experience preferred.
• EPA universal license for HVAC preferred.
• CPO license preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment, plumbing systems, electrical systems, all major appliances including washer and dryer.
• Strong customer service skills.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer proficiency preferred.

Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:30AM - 5:30PM and rotating on-call schedule (additional stipend compensation provided for on-call shifts).

Pay

Pay Range: $22.00-$24.00/hr + quarterly bonuses based on property performance and exceptional customer service.

Physical Demands

Will be exposed to the constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting/moving/carrying light and heavy loads, climbing stairs and ladders.
