Sienna at South Mountain Apartments in Laveen, AZ is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician.
About the role
Maintain the physical integrity of the community, ensuring a safe and secure living environment for residents, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities include general repairs, vacant apartment preparation, emergency repairs, landscaping, record keeping, and accepting deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Address resident service and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Communicate with residents on pending items or the status of service requests to ensure satisfaction.
- Keep the physical property throughout the community and immediately correct unsafe conditions.
- Maintain accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests, expenditures, apartment make-ready status, and work in progress.
- Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed on schedule.
- Perform grounds maintenance such as raking, sweeping, shoveling, salting, and landscaping as circumstances warrant.
- Change locks and keys.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in property maintenance or equivalent maintenance-related fieldwork.
- Ability to interact professionally and efficiently with prospects, residents, staff, and management.
- Hands-on experience with basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, heating and air conditioning systems (heat pump experience a plus), swimming pools, landscaping, and cleaning.
- Must furnish own tools and have transportation to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors.
- HVAC certified; CPO certification preferred.
- CFC/EPA approved certification (or willingness to obtain within 45 days of hire).
- Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) preferred; must be willing to obtain if requested by management.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, walk between buildings and on roofs, stoop, kneel, and bend, with hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with and adherence to all OSHA guidelines.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Achieve Fair Housing certification prior to interaction with prospects or residents.
- Ability to travel to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors.
- Must pass a drug and background screening.
Schedule
40+ hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and on-call hours as circumstances warrant.
Pay
Hourly pay range: $22–$23.
