Apartment Management Professionals, LLC (AMP Residential) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team at Riverfront Towers, a 550-unit apartment community located in Detroit, MI. About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition while building relationships with service staff, residents, and vendors. This role involves providing high-level customer service, conducting regular inspections, completing service requests, and assisting with apartment make-readies. The Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare vacant apartment homes for occupancy by making necessary repairs
  • Complete work orders in occupied homes while providing fast, friendly service
  • Follow preventive maintenance guidelines
  • Maintain property grounds, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and other service requests
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve property goals
  • Follow safety procedures

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to talk or hear
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 100 lbs occasionally

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of facilities maintenance experience in a similar industry
  • Experience with appliance troubleshooting/repair and electrical systems
  • Strong plumbing knowledge/background required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • CPO certification preferred but not required; pool knowledge a plus
  • Must have strong teamwork skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid Driver’s License with auto insurance
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening
  • Must be available after hours and weekends for on-call responsibilities (rotated schedule)
