Maintenance Technician- Residential

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete resident maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general maintenance issues.
  • Prepare apartment homes for new residents, including apartment turnovers and renovations.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and ensure property standards are met.
  • Maintain common areas, mechanical equipment, and building systems.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to provide outstanding service to residents.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in apartment maintenance, property maintenance, building maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance repairs.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and safely move appliances and maintenance equipment.
  • Comfortable working on ladders and at heights up to 25 feet.
  • Experience in multifamily housing, apartment communities, hotels, or hospitality maintenance is preferred.

  • HVAC troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative maintenance team.

Starting pay is based on experience, technical skills, education, certifications, and other job-related qualifications.
