About the role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the operating conditions of assigned equipment, performing repairs or replacements, troubleshooting, and making adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace failed components on manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on various types of equipment and electrical panels.
  • Document work orders and planned maintenance using a computerized maintenance management system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair routine electrical and mechanical problems on assigned equipment.
  • Support operations in setting up and changing equipment.
  • Participate in Maintenance Excellence Teams (MSE).
  • Train operators in AM activities.
  • Conduct breakdown analysis and participate in loss-elimination plans.
  • Represent the maintenance team in daily Facility Management Operations Support (FMOS) meetings.
  • Provide performance data for selected machines and communicate action plans effectively.

Requirements

  • Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Prioritize: Associate's degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology.
  • Required: Technical degree/trade certification or 2 years of equivalent manufacturing technician experience.
  • Preferred: Successful completion of Mars Apprenticeship Program or Co-op.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot AC/DC electrical components, motor starters, switches, and sensors using basic test equipment like multi-meters and amp probes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic and mechanical drive systems at the component level on assigned equipment.
  • Flexible scheduling to support production needs and handle multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to develop technical skills in welding, basic machining, and fabrication/layout.
  • Preferred: Advanced understanding of AC/DC electrical (up to 480V 3-phase), hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC instrumentation.

Pay

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between USD 34.09 - USD 46.87 per hour.
