About the role

The purpose of a Maintenance Technician is to maintain conditions of operating equipment. This includes repair or replacement of failed components, troubleshooting unknown issues with equipment, and making adjustments to centerline operational output of assigned equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical and electrical P.M.s on various manufacturing and packaging equipment and electrical panels
  • Document WO’s/PM using a computerized maintenance management system
  • Troubleshoot and repair routine electrical and mechanical problems on assigned equipment
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and support Operations in equipment setup and changeover
  • Participate in MSE teams, train operators in AM activities, and conduct Breakdown Analysis
  • Own PM systems for the Line, focusing on Maintenance Planning and Scheduling and Breakdown Elimination DMS’s
  • Drive results in Planned and Unplanned Downtime, and own Maintain & Repair costs for line, Planned Maintenance and PM compliance, and Breakdown reduction
  • Act as technical expert of related equipment and discuss, coach, and train technicians and operators on this equipment
  • Own Anomaly Handling DMS and make business decisions based on quantitative and qualitative data analysis
  • Participate in the development and own portions of the Line's 90-Day loss-elimination plans
  • Represent maintenance team in the daily FMOS meetings and provide performance data for selected machines

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate's degree in a technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance/Technology preferred
  • Technical degree/trade certification or 2 years or equivalent manufacturing technician experience required
  • Successful completion of Mars Apprenticeship Program or Co-op
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Ability to troubleshoot ac/dc electrical components, basic pneumatic and mechanical drive systems, and possess basic test equipment skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production needs and conduct multi-task work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to develop required technical skills in welding, basic machinist, and fabrication/layout skill sets

Qualifications

  • Possess an advanced understanding of ac/dc electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Possess PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills

Pay

The base pay range for this position is between USD 34.09 - USD 46.87, with variable pay and other benefits included in the total compensation package.
