About the role
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll handle our Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups. Our team will train you on everything you need to know to thrive in your very own market—no previous garage-door experience required.

- You are not weather resistant (hot/cold depending on geography)
- You are unlikely to follow what you were taught in class and apply it with gusto
Responsibilities
- Handle Annual Maintenance Club Tune Ups
- Complete garage-door inspections following a checklist
- Handle callback visits when we don’t get it right the first time
- Focus on turning negative experiences into positive ones
- Educate customers on their door and findings from the inspection
- Receive POs for the warehouse and update inventory with exact counts
- Assist the Area Manager or Market Lead with load-outs for techs and installers
- Maintain physical counts in the warehouse and update inventory
Requirements
- Be nice—we mean it
- Able to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for long periods
- Physically able to lift 50 lbs
- Valid driver’s license for at least 3 years with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test (not including THC) and criminal background check
- Knowledge of basic software such as navigation apps, Google, tablets, and computers
- Basic knowledge of hand tools
- Reading skills and basic math skills (measurements, payments) required; GED or HS diploma not required
- Professional appearance
- Current eligibility to legally work in the United States
Training & career path
Our apprenticeship is a 4-week training program at the A1 Training Academy in Phoenix, AZ. A1 covers flights and accommodations for the duration of your training. You’ll typically work 45–50 hours a week as an apprentice and qualify for overtime for hours over 40. Once you complete training, you’ll receive a $1,000 bonus and graduate to a junior maintenance technician, performing your duties in and around your market.
