Job Description

  • Completes minor repairs such as patching holes, painting, repairs, furniture, doorknobs, locks, replacing light bulbs, replacing cover plates, and clearing obstructions in drains and toilets.
  • Repairs washers, dryers, dishwashers, small appliances.
  • Reports any inefficient or unsafe conditions to management upon discovery.
  • Completes all paperwork accurately as instructed by your Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
  • Performs all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safety-rules and procedures.
  • Works closely with the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and co-workers to maintain efficient operations.
  • Affords assistance in providing on-the-job training for employees.
  • Completes work orders as assigned in a timely manner.
  • Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
  • Affords assistance with facility inspections as directed.
  • Affords assistance with pest control as required.
  • Makes purchases as directed.
  • Cleans driveways and sidewalks of snow and uses appropriate materials to safeguard against slipping on ice.
  • Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • Assists with center vehicle repairs.
  • Works overtime as needed and participates in an on-call rotation.
  • Communicates clearly and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
  • Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
  • Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
  • Attends all required staff training opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of maintenance experience required.
  • Experience working with youth.
  • A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
