Job Description
- Completes minor repairs such as patching holes, painting, repairs, furniture, doorknobs, locks, replacing light bulbs, replacing cover plates, and clearing obstructions in drains and toilets.
- Repairs washers, dryers, dishwashers, small appliances.
- Reports any inefficient or unsafe conditions to management upon discovery.
- Completes all paperwork accurately as instructed by your Maintenance Manager/Supervisor.
- Performs all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safety-rules and procedures.
- Works closely with the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor and co-workers to maintain efficient operations.
- Affords assistance in providing on-the-job training for employees.
- Completes work orders as assigned in a timely manner.
- Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
- Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
- Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.
- Affords assistance with facility inspections as directed.
- Affords assistance with pest control as required.
- Makes purchases as directed.
- Cleans driveways and sidewalks of snow and uses appropriate materials to safeguard against slipping on ice.
- Performs housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Assists with center vehicle repairs.
- Works overtime as needed and participates in an on-call rotation.
- Communicates clearly and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
- Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
- Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
- Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
- Attends all required staff training opportunities.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One year of maintenance experience required.
- Experience working with youth.
- A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
