Maintenance Technician - Part Time

Urban Self Storage is looking for a dedicated part-time Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. You’ll serve a critical role in providing quality storage solutions by ensuring our location operates at its best.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks at our self-storage facility in Yakima
• Conduct repairs and upkeep of storage units, buildings, and equipment
• Ensure the property is clean, safe, and well-maintained
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
• Assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Report daily to the Store Manager with progress and pending tasks

Requirements

• Experience in maintenance work
• Regular use of power tools
• Positive, customer-focused attitude
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Knowledge of basic computer functions and mobile applications
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of automated gate systems
• Experience with fencing repairs
• Skills to troubleshoot and test security systems
• General skills to replace lock systems and door hardware

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to regularly walk the property to conduct inspections and security checks
• Ability to bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform maintenance-related tasks
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools, including drills and lock-cutting equipment
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and standard office equipment for extended periods
• Ability to read computer screens, review digital records, and complete data entry accurately

Pay

$19 to $21 per hour

Schedule

Part-time, approximately 20 hours per week (Tuesday through Saturday)
