Maintenance Technician (Nights)
About the role
The Maintenance Technician/Nights position is located on-site at our Boardman, Oregon facility. This role is part of a cooperative farm business guided by values of quality, honesty, and community involvement.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair dairy processing plant equipment, packaging equipment, and supporting utility systems and equipment.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Prepare and set up machinery for scheduled production runs.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, Packaging Mechanical, Refrigeration, PLC/Process Controls, Dairy Systems Mechanic, Electrical, Welding/Fabrication, and General Maintenance.
- Read and interpret drawings, equipment manuals, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public.
- Communicate effectively, act as a team player, and be able to interact with staff at all levels of the company.
- Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED and 1 to 3 years related experience.
- An associate degree or trade school certification preferred.
- LME Preferred.
- Five years of demonstrated ability to trouble shoot and repair packaging equipment and general manufacturing plant equipment is preferred.
- Allen Bradley PLC programming, Allen Bradley Panel View, Devicenet, Controlnet, and strong electrical and instrumental background.
- One of the following skills would be considered a plus: Dairy Plant Systems experience, Sanitary Welding/Fabrication, PLCs/Computers, Ammonia Refrigeration (RETA Certification) and/or Utilities experience.

Negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
