About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to support safe, efficient, and reliable manufacturing operations. This role helps minimize downtime by performing preventative maintenance, responding to equipment issues, and working closely with production and maintenance teams to keep equipment operating effectively and in compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Installing, repairing, and servicing electrical systems.
- Sourcing or fabricating replacement electrical components.
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.
- Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.
- Dismantling machinery and removing/replacing defective parts.
- Determining changes in parts requirements by inspecting and measuring various instruments.
- Maintaining inventories of equipment, parts and supplies by checking stock and placing orders.
- Training production workers on routine preventive maintenance.
- Providing mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
- Preparing maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintaining product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
- Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant license or certification.
- A valid driver's license.
- At least 2-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician (preferably in Manufacturing).
- Experience with power tools and other equipment.
- Firm grasp of health and safety codes.

- Patience when teaching apprentices.

Working conditions
- Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including helmets, gloves, and safety goggles.
- Regular safety drills, including fire and emergency evacuation procedures.
