Maintenance Technician (Millwright)
Job Summary
Your Job Georgia-Pacific's OSB plant in Gladys, VA has an incredible opportunity for a Maintenance Technician (Millwright). Our Maintenance Mechanics must be willing to work any shift, including but not limited to 12-hour rotating shift or Days and can include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
What You Will Do
- Perform mechanical inspections, repair and perform maintenance on all machinery and equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, power transmission and steam systems
- Utilize computer systems to input work orders, identify parts, maintain records such as labor hours and PM findings, etc.
- Replace defective parts with new parts or repairing/reproducing parts using welding, drill press, surface grinder and other machine shop equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled or assigned
- Assist with creating job plans for future reference on repair jobs
- Share knowledge through training and providing technical assistance to other team members
- Perform other related duties and completes projects as assigned
- Adhere to and promote all safety policies and to include wearing necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Work in high places in excess of 80 feet, using man lifts and working in confined spaces
- Performing work that entails lifting up to 50 lbs, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and/or pulling for at least twelve (12) hours a day
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience installing, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial equipment
- Two (2) or more years of experience working in the Industrial Maintenance field OR completion of a mechanical Trade School program and/or Apprenticeship program
- Experience troubleshooting conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and pumps
- Experience with fabrication and welding
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps, lubrication
- Experience with Machine Tool and Die
- Experience with reading blueprints and precision measurements
- Experience using a computer for record-keeping and documentation functions
- High school diploma or GED

Pay and Schedule
- Expected compensation range for this position is $30-36, with entry rates typically being on the lower end of this range. Pay rates may vary based on individual qualifications and contribution levels.
- Sign-On Bonus: $1,500
- Variable Pay: In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay, provided as a monetary bonus, based on performance metrics and production targets.
