We are currently searching for a Maintenance Technician- Machine Repair Tech to join our team at our plant in St. Clair, Mi.

What you will do

  • Absorbs lead responsibility in troubleshooting and repairing machinery, equipment, and facility structures to support the operation of the facility and the production processes.
  • Performs preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment according to prescribed schedules and procedures.
  • Assists in developing process improvement projects in support of the plant operations.
  • Performs fabrication projects as necessary to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assists, coaches, and teaches Apprentice I-IV level maintenance employees to pass on essential knowledge and skills to these employees.
  • Adheres to all plant rules and regulations.
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards the job and coworkers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Ability

  • In-depth knowledge of Pneumatics, Hydraulics, three-phase power systems, HVAC, and cooling water systems operation and maintenance, and the ability to troubleshoot and repair these systems.
  • Formal education in industrial machine repair and maintenance preferred.
  • Basic fabrication skills to include, but not limited to, stick and wire welding, metal fabrication machinery operation (ie. Lathe, mill, drilling operations, etc.), and understanding and ability to perform industrial machining, fabrication, and welding.
  • The ability to read and comprehend machine prints and schematics.
  • Attends and comprehends all training as deemed necessary by the plant management.
