About the role

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Military Affairs and Veterans Services is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician at Pease Air National Guard Base in Portsmouth, NH.

Responsibilities

• Performs technical repair and maintenance of the base-wide heating systems to include heat pumps, domestic hot water systems, satellite boilers, and auxiliary equipment such as water softeners, pumps, and control valves.
• Maintains, repairs, and installs various coils used in HVAC applications such as direct exchange coils, heat coils, heat exchangers, convection coils, and economizer coils.
• Assists in the installation and troubleshooting of new HVAC equipment.
• Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on all HVAC systems.
• Responds to emergency situations, such as building emergencies, as this position is designated as Essential Personnel.
• May be required to work overtime in support of snow removal operations.

Requirements

• Valid drivers license
• Must be in good physical condition with normal strength and agility to perform actions such as lifting, bending, and climbing stairs/ladders
• Must be able to satisfactorily undergo a State Police records check
• Must be able to report to job site or be on standby during emergency situations

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after completion of high school in the operation and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment used in buildings.
• Candidates with an equivalent combination of 4+ years of relevant education and experience after completion of high school may be considered and hired in trainee status for this position.
