Maintenance Technician - Injection Molding
Responsibilities
- Cognizant of employee behavior, working conditions, and equipment safety; escalates to leadership when necessary.

- Aid in the installation, startup, and qualification of new or modified equipment and tooling.
- Maintain the hourly and daily success of injection molding equipment, in conjunction with the production and engineering teams, to ensure quality parts are made to the required targets for output and yield.
- Support equipment adjustments under the purview of engineering.
- Perform proactive maintenance on injection molds, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment to support stable daily output.
- Monitor and maintain adequate inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumable items used for maintenance and repair activities.
- Maintain the aggregate drying system, liquid cooling system, and HVAC system(s) as trained and assigned.
- Create and maintain effective mold, tool, and equipment maintenance schedule in our CMMS.
- Conduct mold maintenance such as cleaning, inspection, and surface polishing using approved methods.
- Support creation and update of standard operating procedures in conjunction with engineering as assigned.
- Troubleshoot and support automated equipment interfaces, including sensors, actuators, and basic I/O functionality.
- Safely and efficiently operate an overhead crane for handling of molds and other components as needed.
- Perform mold installation and removal activities.
- Work with cross-functional team members to define equipment issues, assess production impact, and support timely resolution.
- Communicate shift pass down summarizing performance to plan, downtime events and support needs.
- Perform upkeep and repair of company assets, including the facility, production equipment, warehouse equipment, and other items as assigned.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with, maintaining, and repairing injection molding equipment and molds required.
- Able to work independently or with others, communicate between cross functional teams, and work professionally in a manufacturing environment.
- Must possess working knowledge of safe maintenance practices, including lockout/tagout, tool use, housekeeping, and the safe handling of lubricants, chemicals, and maintenance materials in accordance with SDS documentation.
- Must have knowledge and experience troubleshooting and repairing automated manufacturing equipment, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Must demonstrate the ability to follow instructions and complete assignments with minimum supervision.
- Must be knowledgeable and demonstrate safe work practices such as preventing trip hazards (cord use on tools and equipment), correct ladder use, etc.
- Must have basic knowledge of facility maintenance, i.e. painting, plumbing, lighting, etc.
- Must demonstrate an aptitude and desire to continually improve facility janitorial tasks to reduce costs while keeping the facility clean.
- Job includes lifting, bending, stooping, standing, climbing, pulling, and reaching. Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force required. Good eye/hand coordination and motor skills are required.
