Maintenance Technician Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as well as scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the department supervisor.
- Install and repair a wide variety of electrical equipment.
- Maintain and repair facility plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as switches and fuses.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follow prescribed safety procedures.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Maintenance Technician Skills And Specifications
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck.
- Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.
- Strong computer data entry skills.
- Solid problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics and diagrams.
- Has an understanding of HVAC systems.
- Ability to contribute and work in a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work.
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work.
- Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines.
Maintenance Technician Education And Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED).
Maintenance Technician Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of Maintenance Technician, the employee is continually required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- The employee is occasionally required to crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
