About the role

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of coordinating and performing duties related to refurbishing and minor repairs. They will also oversee subcontractors for refurbishment projects and perform painting and refurbishing projects as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Cook up as a lead of multi-department refurbishment team.
  • Makes units ready for existing and new residents including removing items to standardize the unit, checking all systems and appliances to ensure proper operation and customization.
  • Performs the work necessary to complete these tasks and coordinates the work of others and ensures completion.
  • Performs maintenance duties, repairs walls, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical repair and appliance installation.
  • Oversees subcontractors for Refurbishment projects working with Physical Plant Coordinator.
  • Prioritizes all work in the order set by the Plant Coordinator.
  • Participates in emergency drills and acts as a member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Participates in the 24-hours on-call program to include occasional weekend and night work.
  • Functions under intense time pressure.
  • Attends Marketing meetings and mandatory in-service meetings.
  • Works as a member of a team.
  • Accepts change in a positive manner and contributes to a positive, healthy and safe work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • HVAC preferred.
  • Minimum of four (4) to six (6) years’ experience in commercial maintenance, journeyman level.
  • Intermediate experience in the various trades required.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
  • Must be able to work alone most of the time without direct supervision.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass background checks (fitness for duty physical, fingerprinting, employment references) as required by a licensed residential care facility.

Skills

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems is preferred but not required.

Pay

Starting at $27.00 - $33.00/hr.

Schedule

8:00 am – 4:30 pm.
