Maintenance Technician III

About the Role

This is a full-time Maintenance Technician III position located at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. Shifts available are 1st (~7am-3:30pm) and 2nd (~3pm-11:30pm).

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Documents maintenance activities using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on mechanical equipment such as motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, heat exchangers, and controls with minimal to no assistance, both within and outside normal operating procedures.
• Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on patient care equipment such as beds, wheelchairs, carts, and tables.
• Maintains, repairs, and conducts complex troubleshooting on mechanical/electrical systems including pneumatic tube, HVAC, refrigerators/freezers, ice machines, commercial kitchen equipment, electrical, plumbing, piped medical gas systems, and specialized water systems.
• Performs routine to complex general maintenance functions in grounds maintenance, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Manages emergency response and repairs for issues such as leaks, floods, water outages, fires, power outages, and equipment failures.
• Responds to building occupant requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Performs zone maintenance rounding and keeps requesters informed of corrective action statuses.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and equipment safety checks.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, firewalls, and smoke partitions.
• Reads blueprints and maintenance manuals to complete assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 4 or more years of experience in equipment maintenance.
• Certification and/or additional training in a skill/trade/equipment/system applicable to the job and location.
• Valid driver's license.

Skills

• Basic computer skills, including CMMS, building automation systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, crawl, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. from floor to overhead, lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to chest-level, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. at waist height a reasonable distance.
• Must be able to push/pull with 50 lbs. of force.
• Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards; knowledge of safety precautions required.
• Position requires travel and may involve exposure to road/weather hazards.
• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
