About the Role

A senior-level technician and subject-matter expert within the Maintenance Department. This position leads complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and high-level repairs on plant equipment and systems. The role requires advanced technical knowledge across all maintenance disciplines, independent decision-making, leadership on projects, and collaboration with both the Maintenance Manager and cross-functional departments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Serve as lead technician on critical repair work and major equipment overhauls.
  • Coordinate and execute predictive and preventive maintenance tasks to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Mentor and provide hands-on training to Tech I and Tech II team members.
  • Support planning and execution of capital improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Perform precision alignment, calibration, and instrumentation tasks.
  • Interpret complex technical documents, wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Lead root-cause failure analysis and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with all safety and environmental standards.
  • Manage CMMS documentation for critical repairs and equipment history tracking.
  • Support spare parts identification and procurement through collaboration with Maintenance Planner or Inventory Coordinator.
  • Recommend and help implement process improvements and standard work instructions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Technical certification or associate degree in a related field (preferred).
  • At least 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing warehouse environment with industrial woodworking machines.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent: lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, handling, grasping, talking, hearing with eye/hand/foot coordination.
  • Occasional: climbing, balancing, crawling, feeling, repetitive motions.
