Maintenance Technician II-Night Shift

Position Summary

ARCH-Minneapolis is looking for a motivated maintenance technician to join our team! Multiple opportunities to learn and grow with us. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems.

Primary Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from CNC machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Change light fixtures when necessary.
• Install air condition units.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricated machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED equivalent
• Work experience in industrial or in commercial work environment
• Experience with manual skills related to facility maintenance
• Knowledge about repair work

• 5 + years in a janitorial, minor repair and preventive maintenance duties of facility and equipment in a manufacturing environment
• Manufacturing environment experience
• Effective verbal and written communication and listening skills
• Good customer service skills
• Must be flexible to adapt to changing and varying work requirements, good multi-tasker
• Able to perform well under pressure
• Self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal supervision
• Able to organize and prioritize
• Able to use chemicals safely
• Mechanically inclined (able to perform facility and equipment repairs)
• Able to use hand tools/power tools
• Able to climb ladders, be in small spaces, and work on your hand and knees when necessary
• Detail oriented
• Manual skills related to facilities maintenance
• Knowledge about basic repair work
• Able to drive forklift
• Able to understand and display proper use of cleaning chemicals
• To manage time and work in fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with floor care including auto scrubbers, swing scrubbers, mops, shop vacs, etc.
• Manufacturing environment experience
