Position Summary
ARCH-Minneapolis is looking for a motivated maintenance technician to join our team! Multiple opportunities to learn and grow with us. Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems.
Primary Responsibilities
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Listens for unusual sounds from CNC machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Change light fixtures when necessary.
- Install air condition units.
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricated machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED equivalent
- Work experience in industrial or in commercial work environment
- Experience with manual skills related to facility maintenance
- Knowledge about repair work

- 5 + years in a janitorial, minor repair and preventive maintenance duties of facility and equipment in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing environment experience
- Effective verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Good customer service skills
- Must be flexible to adapt to changing and varying work requirements, good multi-tasker
- Able to perform well under pressure
- Self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal supervision
- Able to organize and prioritize
- Able to use chemicals safely
- Mechanically inclined (able to perform facility and equipment repairs)
- Able to use hand tools/power tools
- Able to climb ladders, be in small spaces, and work on your hand and knees when necessary
- Detail oriented
- Manual skills related to facilities maintenance
- Knowledge about basic repair work
- Able to drive forklift
- Able to understand and display proper use of cleaning chemicals
- To manage time and work in fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with floor care including auto scrubbers, swing scrubbers, mops, shop vacs, etc.
- Manufacturing environment experience
