Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED required
- Valid driver's license required
- Must be willing to work 3rd shift: Monday - Friday, 10pm - 6am
- 3 years of experience as a maintenance technician OR associate degree or higher from an accredited institution majoring in a related field
- Technical training as evidenced by certificates, technical degrees, or a skilled trades Journeyman’s card preferred
- Must be able to use all types of precision measuring tools and meters to perform duties as needed
- Must be able to pass mechanical aptitude and practical test
- Occasionally lifts 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds
- Maneuvers in, around, under, and about factory equipment on a regular and continuous basis
- Majority of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending
- Works within an automotive manufacturing environment and may be exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals
- Must be able to work weekends and overtime
- Must be able to safely operate and/or use manlifts, scissor lifts, and forklifts as required to perform maintenance and equipment support activities
Responsibilities
- Inspects, tests, and troubleshoots plant equipment
- Performs continuous preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery
- Has a full understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics and requires little to no supervision
- Troubleshoots electrical systems using electrical prints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and control panel layouts to identify root cause and restore equipment operation
- Safely conducts all work activities and ensures Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE initiatives, procedures, and requirements are properly followed before performing maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, or equipment interventions
- Troubleshoots PLC-controlled equipment using Siemens PLC hardware, software diagnostics, input/output status, fault codes, and ladder logic to support safe and efficient machine recovery
- Supports continuous improvement activities on assembly lines by identifying equipment, process, and workmanship opportunities that improve safety, quality, uptime, and efficiency
- Performs repairs, installations, adjustments, and modifications with a proper workmanship mindset, ensuring work is completed cleanly, correctly, safely, and to established plant standards
- Collaborates with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to implement assembly line improvements, reduce recurring downtime, and support standardized work practices
