Job Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the safe, efficient, and well-maintained operation of the warehouse and property. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical skills, proven maintenance experience, and a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on conveyors, sortation, forklifts, pallet jacks, dock levelers, HVAC systems, doors, lighting, and general building systems.
- Lead troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues to the root cause.
- Diagnose and repair VFDs, motors, PLC I/O, photo-eyes, encoders, and sensors.
- Support CMMS scheduling, parts management, and work order prioritization.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and reliability improvement projects.
- Coordinate outside contractors and ensure all work meets WebstaurantStore standards and safety requirements.
- Fabricate brackets, guards, and fixtures as needed using MIG/TIG welding and basic machining tools.
- Participate in safety audits and assist in training Maintenance Tech I team members on best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize uptime and reduce maintenance costs.
Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a distribution, manufacturing, or industrial environment
- Trade school, technical degree, or journeyman card in a related field (industrial maintenance, mechatronics, HVAC, or electrical) preferred
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems, welding/fabrication, or racking installation
- Proven experience commissioning, maintaining, or upgrading automated conveyor systems
- Familiarity with PLC control systems (Allen-Bradley preferred) and ability to diagnose I/O issues
- Strong understanding of industrial automation equipment, conveyors, and material handling equipment (MHE)
- Experience using CMMS software to record work, track assets, and manage preventive maintenance schedules
- Working knowledge of LOTO procedures, OSHA regulations, and NFPA 70E standards
- Valid driver’s license required; forklift and aerial lift certification preferred (company-provided training available)
