About the role
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment such as packaging machines, scales, conveyors, blowers, compressors, and more. This role is primarily a first shift position, typically 40 hours per week in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Install and repair industrial machinery equipment, conveyors, etc.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts, following specifications and blueprints, using precise measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment; repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
- Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on all equipment as needed.
Requirements
- Must have a strong mechanical background to maintain and make improvements to physical assets by performing preventive maintenance, repairing, rebuilding, overhauling, and dismantling all types of complex manufacturing and support equipment.
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Able to lift 50 pounds frequently, climb ladder, and stand, walk or move around during the entire shift.
- Must pass written and practical competency assessment.
- Able to perform mechanical work on a scissor lift at various heights up to 35 feet.
- Able to climb to the roof through the roof hatch ladder at 35’ height.
Qualifications
- Good oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work effectively with key co-workers including department managers, line operators, quality assurance personnel and contractors.
- Knowledgeable of and able to act in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations.
- General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS.
Skills
- Welding and fabrication skills preferred.
- Machine shop experience using mill, lathe, band saw, etc. preferred.
- Electrical wiring troubleshooting preferred.
- Strong background diagnosing and repairing industrial equipment.
- Working knowledge of CMMS systems on PC and/or mobile device preferred.
- Experience in preventive and predictive maintenance preferred.
